For the second year running, the QS Digital team has been shortlisted for marketing team of the year in the British Media Awards. This marks another year of strong growth across all the company’s online channels – including TopUniversities.com and TopMBA.com – and also provides recognition for the team’s focus not just on the “what” and “how” of online marketing, but also the “why”.
This question provided the stimulus for a series of team workshops across 2014, focused on identifying our strongly shared core values and our dedication to helping people around the world achieve their ambitions and potential through access to international higher education. This is summed up in our newly articulated team vision: “Inspiring Futures”.
Celebrating the best of British media
Awarded annually, the British Media Awards celebrate the best launches, campaigns and achievements across the British media sector, both online and in print. Finalists include many of the UK’s most famous media brands and businesses, including the BBC, The Guardian, The Huffington Post, The Economist and The Financial Times – as well as the country’s most innovative and successful online ventures, such as Buzzfeed and Mumsnet.
Among those joining QS Digital in the “Marketing Team of the Year” category are national news platforms such as News UK and The Mirror; international media companies such as Time Inc; and online resources such as FindMyPast. The overall winners will be selected by a panel of expert judges, representing different aspects of the media industry, and announced at an awards ceremony in May.
Our team vision: “Inspiring Futures”
QS Digital’s shortlisting this year is based on the team’s newly articulated vision, “Inspiring Futures”. This sums up a series of workshops held over the latter half of 2014, in which we identified the personal motivations and shared values which underlie our work across QS’s online platforms – including TopUniversities.com and TopMBA.com, both of which were re-launched with all-new designs and improved functionality in 2014.
Other highlights of the year included a huge increase to our social media audience, strong engagement across our email campaigns, and better-than-ever results from both PPC and display advertising. All of this has helped us spread the word about the wide range of products and services QS provides, including events such as the QS World Grad School Tour and QS World MBA Tour and resources such as the QS World University Rankings® and the Global 200 Business Schools Report.
Strong results across all channels reflect the team’s focus on tailoring content and campaigns to match individual user needs and preferences, combined with an ethos of continuous collaboration and innovation. New content formats trialled over the past 12 months include videos, e-papers, online magazines, slideshares, webinars and new types of infographic – and there’s even more to come in 2015!
