School of Basic Sciences, School of Earth, Ocean & Climate Sciences, School of Electrical Sciences, School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Management, School of Infrastructure, School of Mechanical Sciences, School of Minerals, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering.
Requirement for awarding degrees:
All the courses are full time and residential. Medium of instruction is in English. For getting a degree the following minimum CGPA is required :
M.Tech : 6.00 out of 10
M.Sc : 6.00 out of 10
Semester : The academic session is divided into two semesters each of approximately 20 weeks duration: an Autumn Semester (July-December) and a Spring Semester (December-May).
Examination : 4 examinations are conducted during an academic session, viz : Mid-Autumn, End-Autumn, Mid-Spring and End Spring. In addition, one supplementary examination is held to enable the students to clear their failed subjects.
Grading system : As a measure of students’ performance a 7-scale grading system using the following grade points per credit, shall be followed :
