Established in 1895, as the oldest university in Taiwan, the University of Taipei has made a significant contribution to education for more than a century. After the merger of Taipei Municipal University of Education and the Taipei Physical Education College in 2013, UT has developed into a comprehensive university with extraordinary academic research achievements. We keep our original strength and go further to conduct intensive studies in various fields. In the meanwhile, we facilitate more inter-institutional communication, working hard to explore diversified areas and hoping to be ranked among the top 500 universities of the world.

To achieve this goal, UT has adopted strategies to develop research potential and promote industry-academia collaboration. We also encourage international exchanges and cooperation with foreign teachers and international students through the memorandum of understanding with partner universities all over the globe. Based on the profound cultural background, extensive education resources, and the active participation in the international community, UT has earned the ranking 201-300 in the 2019 THE University Impact Ranking and the ranking 301-350 in 2018 QS Asian University Rankings. UT was also ranked Top 101-150 of ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking Sport Science Schools and Departments and evaluated by Global Views Monthly as Top 32 of the Best Universities in Taiwan in 2017.

UT seeks to exert far-reaching knowledge impact to the world on fields including Education, Humanities & Arts, Science, Kinesiology, and City Management. Offering programs in 27 departments and 24 graduate schools of 5 colleges, UT values international diversity, which greatly enriches global view of all students and sets a connecting platform of international career development for future leaders. Over 85% of students obtained teacher certification in 2018, and our student athletes won 43 gold, 55 silver, and 54 bronze medals in National Intercollegiate Athletic Games 2018.

UT is located in a vibrant international city with two campuses: Bo-Ai campus at the heart of downtown Taipei and Tian-Mu campus in the neighborhood adjacent to Yangmingshan National Park. Both campuses are close to bus, train, and MRT stations. With convenient location, great amenities and well-deserved reputation, UT has attracted both local and international students.
