If you want to study in Canada, you might be wondering which city is the right one for you. Earlier in the year we published the QS Best Student Cities 2017, a ranking of the top 100 cities in the world to be a student – and Montreal sent shockwaves by knocking Paris off the top spot to now rank 1st. Toronto is joint 11th this year, sharing the position with Hong Kong and coming straight after fellow Canadian city Vancouver at 10th.

So both cities clearly have a lot to offer students  – but which one should you call home when you study in Canada?

To help you decide, we’ve created this infographic to compare Toronto vs Montreal on the cities’ rankings performance, lifestyle, affordability and employer activity. We’ve also included some quotes from students themselves who told us about their experiences in our student survey – with the new Student View category helping to shape this year’s ranking.

Of course, we were unable to name a winner for lifestyle as this is purely up to you and your personal preferences. However, both cities seem to have been a big hit with students, so you’re unlikely to go wrong!

Which student city gets your vote? Let us know in the comments below! And to find out more about how to study in Canada, download our free guide, with advice on application requirements, visas, scholarships, funding, student cities and more.
