The Université Nice Sophia Antipolis (UNS) is a multi-disciplinary University. Founded in 1965, it has establishments throughout the Alpes Maritimes in Nice, Cannes, Menton and Grasse, and is a key player in the Sophia Antipolis technological cluster. Each year it welcomes over 25,000 students, of whom around 1,300 are doctorates and almost 20% from abroad, distributed throughout various campuses and training and research units (UFR). It has a staff of over 2,700: over 1,600 teachers, professors-researchers and tutors, and over 1,100 administrative staff (library staff, engineers, administrative and technical staff, service or health workers). Around 200 theses are defended each year in the UNS.
