Ask any historian and they’ll tell you last year’s History subject ranking saw arch-rivals Oxford and Cambridge tied for first place with nothing to separate them. This year, however, that’s all changed. Oxford has gained an edge over the Tabs, but incredibly both universities have been overtaken by Harvard University.
In fact, if History is your thing then there are few places better to be than the US. Seven of the top 10 universities are from the land that gave us Lincoln, Martin Luther King and Oprah Winfrey. Further down the table, 12 universities have made history with their first appearance in the rankings.
