Colorado School of Mines remains the best place in the world to study mineral & mining engineering. Also in the top 10, three Australian universities have made improvements on last year’s ranking. Those institutions are the University of Western Australia (UWA), the University of Queensland (UQ) and the University of New South Wales (UNSW).

Further down, two Russian universities are ranked this year. The St Petersburg Mining University is ranked just inside the top 20, while the National University of Science and Technology “MISIS” is 42nd.
