King’s College London (KCL) are the only university to break into the top 20 of this year’s English language & literature ranking, climbing 10 places to 15th. Unsurprisingly, the vast majority of the top universities are based in English-speaking cities. The highest-ranked institution from a study destination where English isn’t an official language is Freie Universität Berlin, which is ranked 37th.
