Studying Abroad
The University of Bologna promotes international exchanges and offers enrolled students several mobility opportunities for study and traineeship abroad through various programmes: Erasmus+ Study for study mobility, Erasmus+ Placement for traineeship mobility, Overseas and ICM for non-European mobility. Students can also get funding from the Schools for the purpose of preparing their final dissertation abroad.

•             What is the status of planned campus admission open days/tours? 
Alma Orienta, the students' fair of the University of Bologna, is going online, Italy's main event for prospective students becomes digital and will be broadcast live on 14 and 15 May.

•             How can applicants contact the university about their application?
The University’s offices are closed to the public, but services continue to run remotely.
If you need to speak to someone in person, you can request an appointment by sending an e-mail to the relevant office.
Courses, exams and graduation sessions are taking place online.

•             How is the university handling applicants whose exams have been cancelled?
Courses, exams and graduation sessions are taking place online.

•             Is the university making any changes to entry requirements (i.e. test results, required documents)?
The University of Bologna will provide updated information on admission procedures that will be published on each degree programme website. Check regularly the Admission webpage of the  degree programme you are interested in.

•             How is the university supporting applicants whose visa applications have been delayed?
If you are a non-EU citizen living outside Italy, next to complying with the rules and deadlines established by the University of Bologna, you must pre-enrol at the Italian Embassy or Consulate in your country. As soon as the Italian Ministry for Education, University and Research (MIUR) will set pre-enrolment deadlines for a.y. 2020/21, you will find the information on www.unibo.it/admissions

•             Is the university still accepting applications? Are there any restrictions being placed on international applicants?
Admissions are currently open for several programmes. For other programmes, they will open later on in spring/summer.

•             How are applications for university accommodation being handled?

Starting from March 18, at 9 pm, from Monday to Friday, #UniboSera will offer the entire university and city community the opportunity to follow to short speeches, dialogues and debates. In the first series of this segment with the title "The time of waiting", professors of our University or external scholars will address, from different perspectives, some themes of common interest, such as the change in our habits, fears, new forms of sociality, time perception, and the act of waiting projected into the future.
The University's Museum System is joining the campaign of the Emilia-Romagna Region "#laculturanonsiferma" (culture doesn't stop) and it started today posting themed content on their Facebook page, including videos on history, characters and treasures of the past, as well as thoughts about present times. Some of their posts will be dedicated to the Botanical Garden, allowing us to discover and enjoy the flowers blooming in March.
 
Finally, alongside culture and critical thinking, the University of Bologna also values the importance of physical activity which becomes especially relevant during this period in which we have to spend time at home. Thanks to CUSB - University Sports Centre, from tomorrow, every morning at 8.30, 15 minutes work-out videos will be posted on the University's social media profiles (Instagram (IGTV), Facebook and YouTube): a CUSB instructor will guide you for a 15 minutes training from Monday to Friday so that you can start your day with some exercise.

Graduate employment (2016)

Graduates from the University of Bologna have an advantage when it comes to entering into the world of work, whether in Italy or abroad. Each year more than 16,500 students graduate from the University of Bologna. The statistics collected by AlmaLaurea tell us that almost 70% of total graduates (first-cycle graduates who do not continue their studies, second-cycle and combined-cycle graduates) obtain regular gainful employment within a year of graduation. This percentage rises to 83% after three years and 88.5% after five years. The same surveys report that 85% of our graduates would choose the University of Bologna again.
