Chaoyang University of Technology

Chaoyang University of Technology (CYUT) was founded in 1994 with the goal of educating elites. From the university’s establishment, the motto “diligence, character and action” is aimed to foster the students’ core abilities as well as to cultivate students’ pride, respectability, politeness, harmony and devotion. CYUT also aims to be up to date with industry trends in their expertise, technological application, communication, as well as learning autonomy, so to equip the students to become professionals needed by industry. CYUT comprises of 5 colleges and 23 departments, offering 23 master's programs and 5 doctoral programs. The current number of students enrolled is around 17,000, including 1400 graduate students. CYUT’s excellent teaching and research performances have been readily receiving recognition nationwide.

(1) Partnership Opportunities: Research Centers. CYUT has five globally competitive research centers: 1.) Chaoyang Agro-Tech Center, 2.) Center of Non-Destructive Testing (CNDT), 3.) Innovative Center of Sludge Recovery (ICSR), 4.) R&D Center of AI (Automatic to Intelligent) Smart Industrial Technology, and 5.) Research Center of Holistic Development for Young Children.

(2) Academic Achievements: CYUT has endeavored to link up with the world toward globalization. In recent years, CYUT has performed outstandingly in a number of international university rankings.

 In addition to that, CYUT is the highest ranked private university of technology in Taiwan in 2007-2017, the Top 100 in 2014-2015 Green Metric World University Ranking, and the No. 1 in private university of technology in Taiwan. Besides, in 2018 World Green Energy University appraisal, CYUT was ranked in the world's top 100 for two consecutive years. 

Green Biotechnology applied to Special Chemical Production and Testing at Department of Applied Chemistry was awarded 2015 Excellent Academic Award from Workforce Development Agency, Ministry of Labor in Taiwan. Six departments are accredited by the Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan (IEET), including Construction Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Environmental Engineering and Management, Computer Science and Information Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, and Landscape and Urban Design.

(3) Innovation and Incubation (World Number Two) Office of Industry-Academia Collaboration (IAC) is posited as a unit for cooperation with the industry at CYUT. Its organization can be divided into Division of IAC Planning and Administration, Division of IP Management and Licensing, Business Incubation Center, Entrepreneurship and Creativity Business Development Center. CYUT Incubator was certified by EC-BIC in 2012 as the first cross-strait incubator and has been the only soft-landing membership so far. Besides European membership, CYUT Incubator also holds membership of NBIA, AABI, and CBIA. CYUT Incubator was awarded number one in Asian-Pacific and number two globally by UBI World Ranking in 2015.
