There are four physical campuses at Deakin, as well as the online learning space (Cloud Campus):

There are 64,036 students at Deakin, with 15,700 students in the Faculty of Business and Law.

The top five countries international students come from are: India (31 percent); China (28 percent); Sri Lanka (six percent); Vietnam (four percent); Malaysia (three percent).

There are a number of clubs and societies on campus, sporting activities like tennis, football, cricket, swimming, and basketball; local parks and nature reserves,

Students can choose to stay on-campus in student residences or private accommodation off-campus such as shared housing.

On-campus accommodation has a range of flexible options:

  • Live by yourself in a studio apartment
  • Live with one other person in a two-bedroom apartment
  • Live with other people in a four, five or six-bedroom shared apartment
  • Live with other people in a 10-bedroom shared unit
  • Choose from a 36- or 52-week lease depending on the length of your studies.


There are also games rooms, a movie room, outdoor BBQ areas and a rooftop terrace plus organized weekly events.


Admission requirements:

  • Vary according to country of origin
  • UG: Academic merit
  • PG: Approved undergraduate degree, or comparable qualifications, academic merit
  • Meet English language requirements- eg recognized English language test- IELTS, TOEFL.
  • International student fees are stated for all courses.  Annual course fee indicates the tuition fee for two trimesters of full-time study, or 8 credit points, unless otherwise indicated.


There are scholarships available to international students through Deakin and through other parties, including the Australian Government.

Deakin also offers scholarships and bursaries related to specific study areas and degrees, and to support students from certain countries and backgrounds.


85 percent of postgraduate graduates were in fulltime work within four to six months of graduation, and 94 percent overall were employed.
The graduates were reportedly working in 255 occupations across 188 industries in 16 countries.

There are a number of career services available through the university, including DeakinTALENT Recruitment Services, helping students build their future career by providing assistance to explore options, find casual work, internships and graduate roles.
