École Polytechnique offers a Bachelor of Science degree, where you can choose between three double majors: mathematics and economics, mathematics and physics, mathematics and computer science.


Tuition fees
Tuition fees are currently €15,000 per academic year for non-EU students and €12,000 per academic year for EU students.

Scholarships and grants
There are merit-based and need based scholarships available for international students. Grants from École Polytechnique and the French government are also available, as well as other forms of financial aid, such as loans.

Entry requirements
Candidates are selected on their strong academic background, especially in mathematics and science. École Polytechnique also values exemplary, extensive achievement in any intellectual or creative endeavor. This includes accomplishments in extracurricular activities such as performing arts or athletics, scientific competitions, internships, leadership in your school or community, volunteering, etc.

To be able to apply, applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Currently be studying for a high school leaving certificate, recognised either internationally or in the candidate's home country (French Baccalaureate, OIB, International Baccalaureate, Swiss high-school maturité certificate, European high-school certificate…)
  • Or, currently be studying for a scientific university entrance certificate
  • Or, have already obtained an entrance certificate to study science at a higher education institution (scientific university, specialized institute, French preparatory class…)

Consistent with all of École Polytechnique’s academic programs, the Bachelor Program is designed for top students with very high potential, who are able to follow a rich and demanding curriculum.

Applicants should also meet the following specific requirements:

  • Have an overall strong academic average
  • Have taken advanced mathematics courses, and at least one advanced science course
  • Have a good level of English (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages level C1)

Located in Palaiseau in the south of Paris, École Polytechnique houses its very own library, museum, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center complete with a “Fab Lab”, 23 laboratories and 8,000 square meters of indoor sports facilities and eight hectares of outdoor sports facilities.

Its École Polytechnique Research Center is also a joint research unit with the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and explores the frontiers of interdisciplinary knowledge to provide major contributions to science, technology, and society.
