Following a long and rich tradition in Chemistry at Montpellier, the ENSCM delivers a degree of “Ingenieur chimiste” * (Master’s degree in chemistry and chemical engineering).The ENSCM training provides future engineers with skills allowing them to work in the fields of Fine Organic Chemistry and Health Science, Chemistry of Materials, Environment and Sustainable Development. It benefits from the excellent potential of research units associated to CNRS (National Centre for Scientific Research), and from structures with engineering facilities, a pilot plant, a scale-up lab and a start-up business incubator.The training at the ENSCM is aimed at giving a sound general, technical and scientific background as well as the expertise needed to fit easily into active and professional life while taking into account the new challenges due to economic, technological and sociological mutations.From research and development to production or quality control, the engineers in chemistry can apply their skills to creating and developing molecules, materials, innovative and non-polluting processes not only for the chemical industries but also the pharmaceutical, agrochemical, electronics industries. Their wide range of activities also reaches the sectors of space, energy, automobile and transports. They can even make a career in the sectors of industrial property, human resources, management.
