Gabelli School of Business

The newly renovated, 130,000 square-foot Gabelli School of Business building was designed to unite the community of undergraduate students, postgraduate students and faculty around the school’s mission that business leadership that can change the world.

As a result of the recent renovation, Gabelli School of Business offers some outstanding services and facilities, including:

• One of the most high-tech, polished trading rooms you’ve ever seen. This is where you’ll find the Bloomberg data terminal you need for your finance project
• Academic advising for graduate students. Need guidance on which courses to take? Just ask.
• The Innovation Lab, a fun, high-energy workspace for students who want to use business approaches to solve some of the biggest problems facing society
• High-tech classrooms that seat anywhere from 35 to 125 students
• Conference rooms galore—and not just for use by faculty and administrators. Reserve a room online to meet with your classmates
• Your professors’ offices. Attending office hours, getting help on an assignment, or asking a question is literally around the corner
• In addition, for industry-specific job-search advice for master’s students, the Career Development Center provides one-on-one advising, workshops, program group sessions, industry spotlights, mock interviews, case preparation, company site visits, networking opportunities, and more

Not forgetting as well, the shared university-wide spaces, such as:

• The three-story Quinn Library, housing the books, periodicals, and online databases that will fuel your academic inquiry
• A branch of the popular chain Argo Tea – have a chai overlooking the garden
• Direct access to the outdoor plaza, where you can study or socialize amid some noteworthy bronze statuary

In addition, with its applied and experiential learning, Gabelli School of Business graduate students experience a hands-on and learning-by-doing approach. Workshops on the latest software, consulting projects for corporate clients, and guest lectures from high-level executives in the field are just a few examples of the learning opportunities students enjoy on a regular basis.

There’s also the Gabelli Launch – a four-week “onboarding” program that focuses on leadership, data analytics and career services prior to starting the MBA program. Students will travel to an international destination to work on a consulting project for an international non-governmental organization.

Considering how 30 percent of students at Gabelli are international, representing 11 nations across campus, the International Business Bridge (IBB) helps international students get ready for a graduate-level US business degree program. The IBB help students improve their English skills, build a foundation in business theory and practice and prepare for graduate level course work.

And although English is the main language of teaching at Gabelli School of Business, the school offers a cultural and English language program for international students prior to beginning their program, called Gabelli Talk.

Whether you have a keen interest in sport, have a passion of the arts, or enjoy a simple walk around the city, student life at Gabelli School of Business will never be boring.

Just minutes away from Central Park and Columbus Circle, surrounded by some of the world’s best restaurants, bars, music and entertainment, and only a short subway ride from Wall Street and many of the world’s greatest finance, media, marketing and accounting firms, Gabelli students can meet with business partners for lunch, or grab a coffee for a meeting with a potential employer before heading back to campus for class.

At Gabelli School of Business, you’re also encouraged to build your résumé and join one of the many graduate business student organizations, such as: Gabelli Women in Business, Black and Hispanic Association, Graduate Marketing Society, Management Consulting Association, Net Impact and the Quant Finance Society, whilst the school also organizes a number of business conferences throughout the year.

The application process to Gabelli School of Business varies from program to program, whether you’ll be studying an undergraduate program, or a master’s program, and whether you’re an international student or home student.
