Exceptional admissions conditions – COVID-19
While our admission requirements remain unchanged, we will provide support to prospective students whose exam results will be affected by the current global health situation. You can now submit your applications to Geneva Business School without test scores for an initial assessment. Please contact admissions@gbsge.com for more details.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Geneva Business School Board of Management has decided that it will accept students even if they are unable to obtain their TOEFL/ IELTS English exam results due to the pandemic.
During the application interviews, we will apply the same level of rigorous assessment as well as thoroughly evaluate the candidate's level of comprehension in English to ensure that everyone has the capacity to participate in class.
Candidates accepted to Geneva Business School without TOEFL/IELTS or high school examination results will be afforded one additional academic year, from the time they join our school, to provide the missing documents.
You can find more information on our exceptional admissions requirements on our blog.
COVID-19 Q&A:
• What is the status of planned campus admission open days/tours? If these events are cancelled, are they being replaced in any way (i.e. by online alternatives)?
Geneva Business School has successfully launched a series of Virtual Open Days, which will occur three times a month and feature current students and staff to answer any questions attendees may have. You can find full information on our website.
We also have a dedicated YouTube playlist that features recordings of our Virtual Open Day sessions, as well as virtual tours of our campuses in Geneva, Barcelona, and Madrid.
• How can applicants contact the university about their application?
Students who are not currently in contact with the School can get in touch with our Admissions Team by applying directly or by contacting them through our dedicated form.
Students who are already in contact with our Admissions Team can contact them by email or phone.
• How is the university handling applicants whose exams have been cancelled?
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Geneva Business School Board of Management has decided that it will accept students even if they are unable to obtain their high school diplomas due to the pandemic.
This measure is on the condition that their grade transcripts, English level, and school recommendations are of the high level we expect from applicants worldwide, and our admissions requirements remain unchanged.
Candidates accepted to Geneva Business School without TOEFL/IELTS or high school examination results will be afforded one additional academic year, from the time they join our school, to provide the missing documents. You can find more information on our exceptional admissions requirements on our blog.
• What advice is the university offering to applicants unable to take an English-language test due to centers being closed?
Similar to cancelled exams, Geneva Business School will accept applicants who have been unable to take an English-language test.
During the application interviews, we will apply the same level of rigorous assessment as well as thoroughly evaluate the candidate's level of comprehension in English to ensure that everyone has the capacity to participate in class. As with high school exams, accepted candidates will be afforded one additional academic year, from the time they join our school, to provide the missing documents.
Furthermore, we will soon be launching online English tests, giving students definitive proof of their level of English.
• How is the university supporting applicants whose visa applications have been delayed?
In cases where visa applications have been delayed, Geneva Business School is fully prepared to deliver blended learning courses, where students unable to travel can study the same course at the same high standard as those who are able to be present on campus.
Our Admissions Team often contacts embassies directly in case of visa issues, and will always provide all the information and support it can for successful visa applications.
• Is the university still accepting applications? Are there any restrictions being placed on international applicants?
Geneva Business School is still accepting applications at full capacity. There are no restrictions placed on international applicants, outside of government-level travel bans.
Even so, we are fully prepared to begin our September intake in a blended format, with students who cannot attend due to travel restrictions beginning classes online before they are able to arrive on campus.
• How are applications for university accommodation being handled?
Students applying to our Geneva campus can apply for Geneva Business School accommodation or public accommodation through their Admissions Manager.
Students applying to Barcelona and Madrid can request information for public accommodation, and assistance in moving to Spain, from their Admissions Manager.
• Is the university making any changes to entry requirements (i.e. test results, required documents)?
At Geneva Business School, we are currently being flexible regarding test results, on the condition that said documents are provided within one year of their time with us. However, this does not change our admissions requirements, which remain designed to accept only high-calibre students.
