School of Business Administration (SBA) at Hitotsubashi University has inherited the traditions of Japan's oldest business school, the Commercial Training School, which was established in 1875. SBA is the figurehead of Hitotsubashi University, as is evidenced by the numerous renowned figures both in business and academia among our alumni.
SBA is a comprehensive school offering bachelor, MBA, Master, and PhD programs, and our mission states “We foster captains of industry who create value for business and serve communities in Asia.” The school’s biggest program is its bachelor program, which has been in operation since Hitotsubashi University’s establishment in 1875. SBA’s professional education has three sub-programs: Business Analysis (full time Master Program at Kunitachi Campus), Business Administration and Financial Strategy (both: part time MBA Program at Chiyoda Campus). SBA’s Master and PhD programs have produced excellent researchers in Japanese academia.
