Our university has a long-standing and successful history over 100 years where a great deal of important discoveries and inventions have been made.  SPbPU has recently become the "National Research University" — a recognized Russian and international leader in the field of higher engineering and economic education with rich educational, scientific and innovation infrastructure. Headed by leading scientists, there were established new competence centers in the priority scientific areas.The university has been developing successful partnerships with over than 100 leading international companies to perform profound researches through their requests.    

Nowadays, SPbPU is the leading university of Russia with over than 30 000 students and rapidly increasing number of foreign students.

SPbPU provides a wide range of courses for international students with 49 different bachelor's degree programs, 200 master's degree programs, 90 PhD programs, and 90 doctorate programs. A number of non-degree and international educational programs are also offered.

St. Petersburg Polytechnic University is happy to offer international programs taught both in Russian and in English, which are very popular among students from all over the world.  Students, who are willing to get undegraduate and postgraduate degrees in Russian, may take a Foundation Program. Aside from these, there are plenty of international programs entirely delivered in English for Master’s, Bachelor’s and PhD degrees. 

Today the Polytechnic University structure includes: 12 Institutes, more than 100 departments and 120 R&E laboratories; a big number of research centers, innovation laboratories and a science park, fundamental library, student campus, medical center, modern sports center, concert halls.
