Plekhanov Russian University of Economics

Plekhanov University is lucky to have its campus in the very center of Moscow, half an hour's walk from the Kremlin. The campus includes six buildings with classrooms, offices, and laboratories, a club and a students' dormitory, which is only 5 minutes' walk away from the campus. The Dean's Office of IBS-Plekhanov is in building 1. Computer labs and the International office are located in building 3 of the University. The library and the department of Russian language are in bld. 6. The Accounts are in bld. 5. Classrooms are in all buildings, except for bld. 5 – our schedules always indicate the room number and, in brackets, the building number. The nearest Metro station is Serpukhovskaya (grey line), which is only 2 minutes' walk away from the main building 3.

During 15 years, there has been an enormous number of different projects initiated by the Council; some of them became annual events such as: Matriculation Ceremony An off-site training for the first-year students – Activity School Plekhanov Student Day University Birthday Ball Miss of Plekhanov University Contest Best Lecturer and Student Competition and many other events.

Plekhanov Volunteer Group was formed recently in 2010. Volunteers help orphans and children with oncological other severe diseases. The Group holds children's charity events, contests, and playing activities. In a word, volunteers do their best to make children feel happy.

There is the Trade Union Committee working successfully for many years in the University. Its main goals and objectives are an expression, representation, and protection of labor, social, economic and other legitimate rights and interests of its members.

Cooperation between the Trade Union Committee and the University administration is highly productive being based on the Collective Employment Agreement between the Plekhanov administration and Workers'

Association which is an effective tool to reach social partnership. Trade Union activists are actively involved in socially significant commissions for labor protection, time sheet accounting, social affairs, etc. For those who are interested in the cultural component of social life, there is the Cultural Center at the University  – the recreation center for social events, such as concerts, University amateur art performances, various contests, meetings, and festivities.

Plekhanov Russian University of Economics pays great attention to sports and healthy way of life. There is the Sports Club at the University with different units, gyms, and a swimming pool. The social life of PRUE means new encounters and new opportunities. It gives a chance to lead an active social life at one of the Russian leading universities of economics!

Career ​​​​​​​​​​​ Meeting the challenges Plekhanov Russian University of Economics exerts every effort to educate advanced professionals and pays attention to develop their skills in practice. Since 2009 the Business Incubator has been created upon an initiative of University’s students. This unit helps the students to obtain experience in organizing own business from its first development to commercialization.

By maintaining business initiatives the University efforts the opportunity to fulfill theoretical knowledge with practice harmlessly for the educational process. The residents of the Business Incubator regularly participate in congresses, summits and youth forums demonstrating own start-up projects, also they initiate special training and management duels within the walls of the University.

To become a resident of the Business Incubator the interested person shall send a project to the Contest of Business Projects which is held once a year. The winners will gain a room for the work, necessary equipment and a complex of individual consultations according to project development and business operations.

Moreover, during a whole year, the Business Incubator holds the master-classes, training on the part of leading Russian experts. These are free pieces of training and everyone who wishes is able to come after online registration.

The Business Incubator takes active participation in the entrepreneurship development outside the University as well. Its residents participate in Russian educational youth forum “Seliger”, they are organizers of the National Economic Summit “Russia: youth and entrepreneurship” and the “Entrepreneurship days” forum, etc.  

The Business Incubator is:

• 250 sq. km of offices area;
• 1 meeting room;
• 7 successful residents;
• 35 finalists; Business project contest twice a year;
• 45 of master-classes a year;
• 20 thematic events (brainstorms, management duels, etc);
• 2 forums annually (2 or 3-days events with more than 700 participants);
• consultations and coaching programs for students.

Since 2012 the Center of Career Development is functioning by the Business Incubator.  The Center of Career Development is structural unit lending complex assistance to the students and graduates in planning their career and helping with job connection on the modern labor market.

The Center of Career Development cooperates with Russian and international companies of different sectors. Among them PwC, the insurance company “Rosgossttrakh”, Sberbank, Daimler, Microsoft and Moscow Exchange. The common base of employers consists of 700 organizations.

Throughout the year the Center along with employers holds practical lectures, master-classes and other arrangements for a student which are making available for young people to meet the representatives of companies directly, also to learn how the business processes work in the reality and how the companies construct.
