Radboud University is among the top one percent of universities in the world. What’s more, the 2010 Nobel Prize in physics was awarded to two professors connected to Radboud University. Radboud is the best traditional, general university in the Netherlands, according to the Dutch university information guide - Keuzegids Universiteiten 2020 and has won this award 8 times in 9 years.
International campus
The university is home to international students from 100 countries, and offers them 14 Bachelor’s and 35 Master’s programmes. Across its 7 faculties, teachers and researchers from over 50 countries explore all domains of science.
Radboud strives for the highest quality - not only in education, but also in its services. Its support services extend beyond the classroom, and give students the opportunity to practice sports or enjoy a mouth-watering meal. Also, the university offers a free Dutch course to each international student.

The International Office of Radboud University provides special pre-arrival services for international students who are enrolling in an English-taught programme, including visa, housing, insurance and social activities. Students don’t have to be concerned about finding accommodation, as Radboud assists them with it.

All the university’s facilities are concentrated together on the one square kilometre of the former Heyendael estate: the lecture rooms and research labs, the University Hospital, the libraries, offices, the accommodation for student organisations, the cafés and cafeterias, the guesthouse, a supermarket, a book shop and the biggest university sports centre in Europe! When it is nearing the end of your studies, our Career Service Office is readily available to assist you through personal coaching. Of course, international students are entitled to make use of the same facilities on campus as Dutch students and staff. Radboud invests in unique research facilities of international significance. Examples are the combination of magnets and lasers for materials research at HFML FELIX and brain scan facilities for research at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, as well as the wealth of research opportunities offered by the Catholic Documentation Centre and the university library’s special collections. All research at Radboud University takes place in its research institutes.
International student environment
Radboud University is located in the historical city of Nijmegen in the Netherlands. Nijmegen is a true student city and is the oldest city in the country. As a student, you will find studying here to be full of life and excellent value for money. Nearly all nationalities are represented on campus ranging from Lebanon to China to the USA. Of all students, 10.6% are international and of all first-year students, 20.5% are international.

Orientation and social activitiesAt the beginning of each semester there is an Orientation especially for our new international students. This Orientation includes fun activities such as tours of the university and the city, sporting events and parties. By participating in this programme you will quickly get to know both Nijmegen and Radboud University, and make new friends from around the world! In addition, the student organisation, ISN Nijmegen, organises a number of social activities for international students throughout the year such as excursions, language tandems, parties and dinners.

Applications for both Bachelor's and Master's programmes open up 1 October. The deadlines are as follows:
- non-EU/EEA students: 1 April (final deadline, incl. accommodation and visa assistance)
- EU/EEA students: 1 May (deadline for accommodation assistance); 1 July (final deadline)
- Exception: Bachelor's programmes with a Numerus Fixus (selection procedure): 15 January

Admission requirements for Bachelor's programmes
High school diploma
Your diploma must be equivalent to a Dutch VWO diploma or a higher-level diploma. Additional requirements may apply, for example, a diploma from an academic stream, a specific level/course, or a certificate in Mathematics.
Command of the English language
When applying for admission to an English-taught Bachelor’s or Master’s programme at Radboud University, you need to have sufficient command of the language. There are various ways to prove this, sometimes through your diploma or citizenship and in other cases through a language test certificate (TOEFL iBT, IELTS, Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) or Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)).

Admission requirements for Master's programmes
Bachelor's degree
Your foreign Bachelor's degree must be equivalent to a Bachelor's degree obtained at a Dutch research university (BA or BSc). Your Bachelor's degree needs to be in the same area of study as the Master's degree that you are applying for. A Bachelor's degree from a university of applied science is not accepted for direct admission. You may be required to follow a pre-Master's programme first to improve your knowledge of the scientific field, before starting a Master's programme. Please note that not all studies offer a pre-Master’s programme.
Command of the English language
When applying for admission to an English-taught Bachelor’s or Master’s programme at Radboud University, you need to have sufficient command of the language. There are various ways to prove this, sometimes through your diploma or citizenship and in other cases through a language test certificate (TOEFL iBT, IELTS, Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) or Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)).

During your studies, the university offers training sessions and workshops for personal development in your studies and career as well as study and career planning services. These services are offered on appointment with an advisor to help you wade through any important questions you may have concerning your study programme, follow-up studies or next steps in your career. In addition, every faculty at Radboud University has a Career Service that offers you the chance to search for internships, have your CV checked, and get help with applying for jobs, setting up your own business or personal advice in career planning.
Professional network
Studying at Radboud provides students with the opportunity to build a powerful professional network. What’s more, students will become part of the Radboud alumni network, so they can stay connected with fellow classmates and professors, and branch out when looking for new opportunities.
