TashkentState Pedagogical University named after Nizami is one of the popular highereducational institutions training qualified pedagogical personnel in theRepublic of Uzbekistan and has a rich history and positive traditions. TheTashkent State Pedagogical University was founded on September 14, 1935, as apedagogical institute on the basis of pedagogical faculty of the Central AsianState University. During 1953-1998years it was called theTashkent State Pedagogical Institute. On February 24, 1998, the Institute was granted thestatus of a university by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Since 1947, the university has been named after the great Azerbaijanipoet and educator Nizami. Thereare 11 faculties, 40 academicchairs, as well as 40 departments such as the Information Technology andInformation Resource Center, Department of Qualification and Practice,Research, Innovation and Training Department, Department of Commercializationof Scientific Innovations, International Cooperation, Monitoring and InternalControl in the university.
University preparesbachelors in the 23 educational directions and Masters in 32 specialties,doctoral students in 16 specialties. The University has a specialized scientific councilfor the defense of doctoral dissertation (PhD, DSc). In the 2017-2018 academicyear, a total of 34 employees, 9 of whom received the DSC, 25 PhD degrees. Theuniversity is considered as a fundamental higher educational institution of theRepublic of Uzbekistan in the field of qualitative training, retraining andprofessional development of pedagogical personnel at the level of internationalstandards in the pedagogical directions of Higher Education. Highly qualifiedscientific and pedagogical staff of the University provide high-qualityeducation for students. The University has a totalof 000 faculty members, 000 of them areprofessors, 000 of them have DSc and 000of them have PhD degrees.Also, 000 foreign specialists work on the basis of internationalagreements. The number of directions of Bachelor's degrees at Tashkent StatePedagogical University is 23 and 5127 students study in these fields. The numberof Master's specialties is 32, and the students studying are 240. Theuniversity also has a second form of higher education, part-time and eveningeducation; there are 10 directions in the second higher education, 7orientations in correspondence education, and 3 directions in the eveningeducation. A total of 640 students are enrolled in second tertiary education.The number of students studying in the form of correspondence education was200, and in the form of evening education - 75. The University has establishedinternational cooperation with many reputable foreign universities. There arealso many extensive facilities for foreign students. Currently, the university enrolls more than 000international students. Providing students with a quality education based onWorld Standards is one of the main goals of the University.
