DTU is a self-governing university that covers most engineering disciplines and educates engineers at the Bachelor, Master and PhD levels. The University has approximately 2,000 researchers, 10,000 students, 1,500 PhD students and 2,000 international students a year. DTU offers 26 English-taught MSc programs and more than 600 other courses taught in English. http://www.dtu.dk/English/education/MSc_Programs.aspx DTU has a high international standard within the technical-natural sciences, based on 19 individual departments as well as a number of research centres on campus in Lyngby, north of Copenhagen. The departments cover activities in biotechnology, communications technology, management, wind energy, space technology and nanotechnology among other areas. DTU houses a coherent innovation system that stretches from research and teaching to patents and licensing, industrial collaboration and science park activities. DTU?s mission is to contribute to value creation in society on a sustainable foundation: through collaboration on R&D activities with private enterprises; through applications for patents and establishment of new enterprises and through the University’s education of Master’s students and young, new researchers.
