Located in the city of Medellín, or as it’s otherwise known, “the city of Eternal Spring”, Universidad de Medellín is a private institution which prides itself on its inclusive philosophy, diverse community, and dedication to academic excellence, by providing an innovative and inclusive academic environment.

Having been granted high quality accreditation by the Ministry of National Education of Colombia, Universidad de Medellín offers a number of undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degrees, where students can choose from a wide range of comprehensive academic programs to study.
Programs are taught entirely in Spanish. However, the University Language Center offers a Spanish course for international students. The Language Center also offers several other language-learning courses, including English, French, Italian, German and Portuguese.
Universidad de Medellín accepts students from all socioeconomic backgrounds, and offers competitive tuition fees for both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
The university also supports entrepreneurships, assigning a $2,000 MCOP fund, which is managed by the university’s Entrepreneurship and Business Development unit.

Universidad de Medellín is proud of its sustainable ‘Campus Vivo’ (living campus) project, which aims to make the university as sustainable as possible, and to have as little impact on the environment as possible. It includes an eco-garden, bio factory and telecommunications training camp.
For those who have a keen interest in sports and recreation, Universidad de Medellín has a number of large spaces across its campus devoted to sports and recreation for its students to spend and enjoy their free time.
If you have a passion for culture and the arts, then the Gabriel Obregón Botero Theater, the largest in Colombia, is the ideal place to experience all sorts of shows and events, including dance, music and theater productions. The Gabriel Obregón Botero Theater also plays host national and international events, and is open to the general public as well as to students of the university.
With a student population of 12,000, and just over one percent of its students representing 15 different nationalities on campus, student life at Universidad de Medellín is a fun and vibrant experience for everyone.
The university’s large green campus space is the ideal location for the university’s Student Union and Human Development Division to organize art and cultural activities as well as sports for students to enjoy.

For those who want to get to know the local culture a little better, you can join some popular tours around the city, including the Tango Tour and Medellín Graffiti Tour. Not forgetting that every year, the city of Medellín celebrates its traditional Flower Festival where local villagers carry chairs on their backs that are filled with various designs and displays of flowers. You should also make sure to visit the symbolic hilltop called Cerro Nutibara, and historical plaza called Plazoleta de Cisneros near the Parque de la Luz (Park of Lights).
