Universitas Syiah Kuala is the oldest state-run university in Aceh Province, Indonesia, with more than 60 years of experience in higher education. Postgraduate study has been a feature of Universitas Syiah Kuala since 1992. The University offers 27 Master and 7 Doctoral Programs across 10 Faculties. These are: business and economic; engineering, mathematical and natural science, teacher training and education, agriculture, law, medicine, nursing, and veterinary. Furthermore, the postgraduate program also offers 10 interdisciplinary postgraduate programs, consisting of 6 master programs and 4 doctoral programs. In addition, the university also offers 6 Professional Programs in Accounting, Veterinary, Teacher Education, Medicine and Dentistry, and 9 Specialist Programs in Medicine.
There are approximately 2330 postgraduate students enrolled in the Graduate Program of Universitas Syiah Kuala, with around 2117 taking master's programs, and the rest pursuing doctoral programs.
