The University of Debrecen is proud to offer more than 70-degree programs fully taught in English: including International Foundation Year and Semester, various types of English Language Courses, Undergraduate, Graduate and other programs.
The duration of the graduate programs is mostly 4 semesters, and the average tuition fee is 7,500 USD/year.
International students can also join the PhD/Doctoral Programs of the University of Debrecen.

The university has four major campuses in Debrecen:
- The oldest one is the main campus, which is home to the majority of the faculties like Science and Technology, Humanities, Music and Medicine.
- The Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences and Environmental Management and the Faculty of Economics and Business are in a smaller campus on Böszörményi street.
- The third campus is on Ótemető street, where the Faculty of Engineering can be found.
- The youngest campus is based on Kassai street where the Faculties of Law, Informatics and Public Health are located.
The Faculty of Health is also an educational unit of the University of Debrecen, however its campus is located in the nearby city of Nyíregyháza. While the Economics and Business Faculty has some additional programs offered in the new Szolnok Campus.

The Troubleshooter office is located on 17, Bem Square and has been set up to help students get their journey in Debrecen off to a good start. The Office can help with the following issues:

The University of Debrecen University and National Library (DEENK) is the second largest library in the country and one of the largest service units of the University. The library possesses a large collection consisting of more than six million documents available for readers in seven library units offering spacious reading rooms on five campuses of the university.
The sports development program was introduced a decade ago at the University of Debrecen and has served as a model for physical education and sports in Hungarian higher education. The University of Debrecen attaches great importance to student well-being and provides on-campus sports opportunities.
Finding the best place to live is always difficult. At Debrecen University you can choose to rent dormitories or private flats. The student hostels are located in the campus area, and are primarily occupied by foreign students.
Many cafeterias and restaurants are operating on the campuses of the University of Debrecen, serving also as meeting places for students.
The primary objective of the introduction of the UniBike system is to help members of the university community get from one university campus to another on an environmental friendly way. Those who register online with their university “UniPass” card can use the UniBike service for a one-time registration fee and a fee based on the length of use.

Students can choose from a wide range of extra-curricular activities.
- The Faculties have a variety of student clubs.
- The Medical Athletic Club has wellequipped facilities including tennis and basketball courts, a weight room and an easily accessible swimming pool is nearby.
- Student parties organised regularly.
- International Food Day and YoUDay are organised yearly, with the participation of thousands of students.
- You will find a number of coffee and tea shops as well as bars, pubs and clubs offering all kinds of night time entertainment in the City Center.
Debrecen has strong cultural and artistic traditions. The Déri Museum displays the craftsmanship and life-style unique to Eastern Hungary. Modem, the largest and most up-todate modern and contemporary art centre of the country is also located in Debrecen. The Csokonai Theatre presents professional performances all year round, and there are numerous exhibitions, festivals and cultural attractions that create rich and stimulating opportunities for relaxation and entertainment.
Most of our students love to spend time in the Great Forest that is a beautiful park area of the city - just a few steps away from the main university campus.

The procedure of the admission is easy here as compared to others. Because UD selects the students on the basis of GPA and entrance test while other universities rely only on student’s GPA.
In order to apply for any courses/programs you will need to submit documents (e.g. your high school or university diploma, English test results, citizen permit & proof, a short CV of yours) depending on the level of education and the program you apply for.
The University of Debrecen provides all necessary support for prospective students in the Application and Admission process, you can check the Application Flow Chart, and send your application as well as the required additional documents online.

The University conducts its programs according to the European Qualifications Framework of the Bologna Process. Thus diplomas attained at the University of Debrecen are generally accepted in the countries of the European Union. Moreover, all our programs are accredited by the Hungarian Accreditation Board which is part of the European Accreditation Board.
Medical programs are accredited by the World Health Organization (WHO), the State Education Department (NY, USA), Medical Board of California, Medical Councils of India (a qualifying exam is compulsory), Israel, Ireland, Iran, Norway and the United Arab Emirates.
The University maintains strategic partnerships and cooperations with companies having premises in the region including National Instruments, Continental, GE, IT Services... Dual training programs ensure that the students gain real-life and practical knowledge besides the theoretical education.
International students are also welcomed in the University's talent management program, providing students with further support to their research and preparing them for a possible academic career.
The University's Career Center organizes regular job fairs as well as provides various services to all students.
