The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) is one of the leading teaching and research institution in Vietnam in the field of business, economics and laws. Established in 1976, UEH is recognised as one of 18 universities in Viet Nam for its reputation in teaching and research in the field of business, economics and law. Since 2014, UEH is the 1st among 23 public universities in Vietnam gaining approval to be a fully autonomous academic institution under the government’s pilot project on restructuring university governance. UEH nurtures a distinctive, high-impact research culture, committed to enhancing the region's cultural, economic and educational development. Following the internationalisation strategy, UEH strives to be among the top research universities in Southeast Asia.
UEH has 13 campuses in Ho Chi Minh City, the most vibrant business hub in Vietnam. UEH has more than 800 academic and admin staffs and 15 schools with different disciplines. The university’s library is also equipped with more 100,000 book titles and several major international journal databases. The university’s journal, Journal of Asian Business and Economic Studies, is published by Emerald. UEH has developed several key research centres.
UEH has more than 30,000 students (full-time and part-time). The university offers 42 bachelor programmes, 17 master programmes - master by research; 18 master programmes – master by course work and 11 doctoral programmes. UEH has developed an extensive network of alumni around Vietnam.
All of the programmes are oriented towards developing competencies and skills for students to strengthen employability for graduates with 90 - 95% of our students employed from 6 months to one year after graduation since 2014. Our alumni hold various important positions in business and government bodies.
UEH is ranked among the Top Best 1000 Business Schools in the World (Eduniversal ranking, 2016, 2017, 2018); Top Business University in Vietnam with strong regional influence in 2016, Top Best Business Schools in Vietnam in 2017. UEH has been the Top 25 performers by Knowledge Transfer indicator (U-Multirank, 2016 to 2019 respectively). UEH has had three programs accredited and certified under AUN-QA (1 programme (2013) and two programmes (2016), four programmes awarded under FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) since 2017 and other four programmes accredited and certified under AUN-QA (September 2019).
UEH has developed an extensive global network with over 70 universities for academic and research collaborations and more than 15 joint programmes with key academic partners in Europe, the US, Australia, and New Zealand. UEH has internationalised curricula at UEH since 2012 and has been the 1st university in Vietnam to get approval from MOET for delivering the PhD programme in English since 2015. There have been five programmes (International Business, Management, Banking, Finance and Accounting) delivered in English since 2016. Our staffs have published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals with the number of publications in Scopus Database increasing over the years 15 articles in 2014, 41 articles in 2016, and 57 articles in 2018, 72 articles in 2019 to make it totally 258 articles.
