Lincoln was rated as 10th best in the UK for university facilities in The Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2018. This ranking is awarded based on how strongly students agree that their university has high-quality, centralised, convenient and affordable facilities, a good library, and good sports infrastructure.

The University's main Brayford Pool Campus has facilities designed for the subject-specific needs of students, whether they are studying science, arts, social science, or business subjects. More than £350 million has been invested in the University's facilities over the past two decades. Recent investments include the £28 million Isaac Newton Building, home to engineering, computer science, mathematics and physics subjects; and the Joseph Banks Laboratories, where life sciences, pharmacy and chemistry staff and students work together.

The University’s new £19 million Sarah Swift Building houses resources for health and social care and nursing courses. The National Centre for Food Manufacturing, based in Holbeach, Lincolnshire, is a dedicated training, education and research facility serving the UK’s £110 billion food and drink industry, which connects with a variety of national and international companies.

The Nicola de la Haye and Peter de Wint Buildings include studios, workshops and a public gallery. Budding artists and architects benefit from specialist equipment for sculpting, printing, animation, photography and all types of design. The on-campus Sports Centre offers extensive fitness facilities, including a fully-equipped gym, five-a-side football pitches, squash courts, saunas and a dance studio.

Whenstudents are not studying, there are plenty of activities and amenities forthem to enjoy on campus and in the city. The University of Lincoln Students’Union operates several major on-campus venues which are popular hotspots for studentsduring the day and at night. These venues were named as some of the safest inthe country in the Best Bar None Awards in 2017.

TheStudents’ Union’s Tower Bar and The Swan provide relaxed daytime and eveninghangouts, while The Engine Shed is one of the region’s biggest live musicvenues. It has hosted acts such as Kaiser Chiefs, Example, Kings of Leon,Kasabian, and Rudimental, as well as comedians Sarah Millican, Romesh Ranganathan,and Katherine Ryan.

A short walkaway from campus you will find a range of restaurants, cafes, and bars thatoverlook the marina area, while the city’s high street and side streets offer amix of independent and boutique stores and national brands and chains. Quirkyspeakeasy bars, cosy pubs, and bustling live music venues add to the vibrantand varied nightlife.

There areplenty of societies and sports clubs that students can get involved in. TheUniversity’s on-campus Sports Centre provides many of the facilities used bythe Students’ Union sports clubs, including five-a-side football pitches,squash courts, basketball courts, hockey pitches, and trampolines. The Centrealso offers a mix of fitness classes and a well-equipped gym. Students can payfor each session individually or via a monthly membership fee.

Ninety six per cent of Lincoln's most recent graduates were in work or further study six months after finishing their course with more than 80 per cent in graduate level roles (Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education Survey 2016/17). Lincoln graduates have secured jobs at major companies and organisations around the world. Recent graduate destinations include the BBC, Rolls-Royce, Siemens, Boots, GlaxoSmithKline, PwC and Rockstar Games. The University has a dedicated and award-winning Careers and Employability team.
