The Université Lumière Lyon 2 is a multi-campus university with its headquarters set in the heart of France’s second biggest city. The University was created in 1973, as the result of a government-decreed split, but can trace its history back to the mid-nineteenth century. Boasting a strong tradition of quality research and the value of its teaching, Université Lumière Lyon 2 is amongst the largest universities of Social Sciences and Humanities in France. Based on 5 campuses, including 2 main sites, the Université Lumière Lyon 2 is home to nearly 30,000 students from undergraduate to doctoral level, 17% of whom come from overseas. It employs more than 2,000 staff, both faculty and administrative employees.
