Institut Polytechnique de Paris is a public higher education and research institution that brings together five top-tier French engineering schools: École Polytechnique, ENSTA Paris, ENSAE Paris, Télécom Paris and Télécom SudParis.
Established on May 2019, Institut Polytechnique de Paris capitalizes on the 200 years of expertise in science and technology of its 5 founding schools. The Institute welcomes 8 500 students each year.
Institut Polytechnique de Paris is located close to Paris on the Plateau de Saclay, a research-intensive, education and business hub referred to as one of the eight leading innovation clusters in the world.
The university’s campus offers an extensive network of scientific, educational and sports facilities. Student residences are located either on campus or in the cities nearby and Paris.
Ideally located just outside Paris, the campus is easily accessible by public transport, allowing students to take advantage of the economic dynamism and rich cultural life of the French capital.
Students are admitted through a very selective recruitment process and receive a high-quality education from a community of 1000 faculty members and experts who are renowned in their fields.
Institut Polytechnique de Paris develops multidisciplinary education from Bachelor to PhD levels and research programs in ten disciplinary departments: Biology; Chemistry and Processes; Economics; Information, Communications and Electronics; Computer Science, Data and Artificial Intelligence; Mathematics; Mechanics and Energetics; Physics; Humanities, Arts, Literature and Languages; Social Sciences and Management. This multidisciplinary approach creates new synergies between fields, for example by implementing new technologies to traditional fields.
Knowledge transfer to the economy and society is at the heart of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris' mission. Its network of incubators, its 30 high-end laboratories, its interdisciplinary centers and its private and public research partners help drive cutting-edge innovation and foster students' creativity.

Institut Polytechnique de Paris has two campuses close to Paris:
- Palaiseau where its five founding schools are based
- Evry for Telecom Sud Paris
The university has 30 research laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment. Students are encouraged to develop their own projects with access to innovation learning facilities such as fabLab, e-lab, Design Studios and incubators. Students also benefit from close links with companies and research centers as well as from its new interdisciplinary centers set up with renowned partners to find solutions to society issues.
IP Paris’s six libraries give students free access to its large resources and offers welcoming study spaces.
Accommodation, places to eat and student associations are located on campus and in the immediate vicinity. Students can enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor sports, from athletics to horse riding or martial arts, providing students with an exceptional living and working environment.
35 percent of students at Institut Polytechnique de Paris are international, and 88 nationalities are represented on campus from all over the world.
Set in a unique 200-hectare site, the campus offers students a vibrant and dynamic student life.

Students also take part in events held on campus: conferences, symposiums, exhibitions, ceremonies, sporting and sciences competitions.
Several accommodation options are available at Institut Polytechnique de Paris:

The campus is located next to the towns of Massy and Palaiseau, just 45 minutes from the center of Paris by public transport.
Admission criteria are based on the applicants’ academic background, language skills, statement of purpose and reference letters.
Applicants for the Diplôme d’ingénieur also must take written and oral exams and PhD Track applicants are required to attend an interview.
Students apply directly online from April 2021 till September 2021 for the Diplôme d’ingénieur. Applications for Masters open on January 5th and will be reviewed in 2 sessions with two deadlines set in February 7, 2021 and April 30, 2021 for Master’s applications. One deadline is set on February 7, 2021 for PhD Tracks. PhDs are on a yearlong rolling admissions base.
