Ajman University (AU) has been at the forefront of U.A.E. education since being founded as the first private university in the Gulf region 30 years ago. With the recent addition of a College of Medicine, the landmark institution now encompasses 9 colleges offering 23 undergraduate and 10 graduate programs. AU’s programs are accredited by the UAE’s Ministry of Education. Additionally, AU is pursuing international accreditation for specific programs as well as the University at large. 

AU’s rich mix of international faculty and students – from 35 and 72 diverse nationalities, respectively – are the cornerstones of AU’s environment of innovation, excellence and social responsibility. AU aims to be internationally recognized as one of the leading universities in the Arab world. 

At Ajman University, being socially responsible is part of the collective DNA.  Students here show great passion for their studies and deep compassion toward society. They have many opportunities to share what they’ve learned in classrooms with the community at large. Each semester, volunteer groups visit places like Nepal and Zanzibar to provide their services – from health care to language instruction. Locally, more than 500 dental patients are served each day at AU’s free dental clinic on campus. And, with the recent addition of a mobile dental unit, dentistry services will soon be available to those who lack transportation.

Since opening in 1988, AU has graduated more than 36,000 students who hail from 84 nations. Working in a variety of professions – from dentistry to information technology; pharmacy to law; mass communication to business administration – AU alumni now comprise 14 alumni chapters around the globe.
