BUAP is recognized in Mexico and abroad as a Higher Education Institution where research represents a pillar of its activities. From its very beginnings at the end of the sixteenth century, a wide spectrum of sciences has been nurtured in our classrooms, laboratories and libraries. Currently BUAP scientists produce four times more indexed papers than those published in the year 2000. This is an unquestionable fact that confirms the importance paid to research as an essential activity of our daily work.
During these years, our researchers have opened their perspectives working on multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary themes. Our intention is to respond to local and national needs and continue to improve our results through rigorous methodologies applied to scientific disciplines in which we have played an international leading role such as Physics, Materials Sciences, Chemistry or Mathematics, to mention a few.
Our objectives in the short term consider the increment of international collaboration through the establishment of networks, attracting new graduate students and professors from abroad and increasing the international mobility of our students and faculty.
We are certain that in an international environment the results of working in collaboration will improve the presence of our research.
