The Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), or Tecnológico de Monterrey, was founded in 1943 by a group of Mexican businessmen led by Don Eugenio Garza Sada. The objective was to prepare university graduates of the highest academic level. Today the Institution has grown into a multi-campus university system which is unique in Latin America because of its extensive geographic coverage and complexity. It is made up of 33 campuses located in 27 Mexican cities, with more than 92,800 students, of whom 26,400 are enrolled in senior high school, 55,311 are in undergraduate programs, and 11,000 are in graduate programs. The Institute's faculty totals 8,400 professors.
