With 6-colleges and 22-accredited programs, GMU has risen to the forefront of medical universities in the region with its futuristic curriculum, training methodology, international collaborations, world-class facilities and first private academic health system in the region.
Research is an important strategic direction of the GMU. The Thumbay Research Institute for Precision Medicine (TRIPM) leads research in the field of cancer biology and immunology, with international collaboration with France, Poland and Korea. TRIPM has been publishing its research in the high impact factor journals, such as; Nature Communications, ACS Nano, Cancer Research, Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Frontiers in Immunology, International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, Tobacco Control, Scientific Reports, and Journal of Clinical Periodontology, etc.

There were many community engagement and outreach activities benefitting 14000 community members. Approximately 5000-outpatient treated free at the College of Dentistry Teaching Hospital of GMU. As a contribution to the future generation, GMU launched the ‘Future Scientists of the UAE’ program in collaboration with GEMS International Schools with 16-young scientists successfully completing their research internship.
Some of our programs have received international accreditation with the World Federation of Medical Education, Institute of Bio-Medical Science and Accreditation Council of Pharmacy Education International Accreditation bodies.

QS, a top international university ranking agency, has awarded 5-Star ratings to GMU in multiple areas. GMU is the only university in the region which has its own teaching hospitals with state-of-the-art medical technology on the campus. We have become the first medical university in the region to introduce 3D digital learning and AI-Based Virtual Patient Learning. GMU received the ‘Best Medical Education University’ by Forbes Middle East Higher Education Awards 2019. GMU is listed as one of ‘10 Best Value Institutes in UAE 2018’ featured on the cover of the renowned international education publication Knowledge Review Magazine, published from Ohio, USA.

GMU has become the first University in UAE which has received the prestigious Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Gold Award, Dubai Quality Appreciation Award, and Dubai Human Development Award 2018 from the Govt. of UAE.
