Currently, there are two major training models deployed in HUST, namely the 4+1 model for bachelor-engineer or 4+1.5 for bachelor - master programs. At undergraduate level, the training programs are designed into two sections as follows:
The science and technology section: Bachelor of sciences (4 years) or engineer (5 years)
The economics and languages section: Bachelor of arts with practical orientation (4 years)

The undergraduate training programs have been reformed in a way that allows integrated knowledge and a flexible structure to ensure transferability, international integration and to uphold individual capabilities. There are more than 70 undergraduate majors available at HUST today, 35 and 45 of which are Engineer and Bachelor training programs respectively.
