Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya has long empowered the development of technology, science, and art in Indonesia. Formally established in 1960, the institute has since become the hub-university of academic, technology, and industry for the eastern part of Indonesia. As one of the best higher education institutions in Indonesia, ITS focuses research and innovation in the field of energy, maritime, ICT and robotic, environment and housing, science-material-nano technology, as well as disaster management and climate change. Through the fields, ITS has been contributing significantly to the development of the nation.

ITS Surabaya is currently taking further steps and aims to contribute globally in the level of 100 Asian best universities or 500 world best universities. Reaching the goals, strategic efforts are focused on the internationalization of academic programs and the internationalization of research and innovations. In 2017, ITS is awarded as the best innovative university in Indonesia. ITS actively takes part in several international accreditations, such as ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN QA), Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), as well as Zeva (Germany Accreditation).

ITS is maintaining and increasing the quality service for international partners. For international students, ITS provides international dormitory since 2017, bicycles for in-campus transportation, and customized tours to explore the culture and nature of Surabaya and Indonesia. To enhance the quality of the lecturers, develop the competence in teaching in English, and accelerate international class, ITS administers English as Medium Instruction (EMI) training for lecturers. To attract international students ITS holds project-based short program entitled CommTECH, international class, and internship, and offers Darmasiswa and KNB scholarships.

ITS is proactive in strengthening its contribution in international conferences and consortiums. This year, ITS is hosting Joint Working Group and ASEAN-China Network for Cooperation and Exchange among Engineering and Technology (ACNET EngTech) 2017 Conference and activity which is hoped to drive positive impact to ITS branding. ITS also became the coordinator of Eastern Part Indonesia University Network (EPI UNET) Consortium coordinating thirty-five (35) university members. In addition to that, ITS is also active in AUN SEED NET Consortium, ASEA UNINET, INTERWEAVE & IMPACT, Australia Indonesia Center (AIC), and ASEAN-China Network (ACNET).

ITS students are progressive in innovations and involved in many prestigious international competitions as follows: Sapu Angin won Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2010 for the category of Urban Concept and Internal Combustion Engine from 2010-2012 and Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2014-2016 for the category of Urban Concept Biodiesel. Ichiro became the winner of International Federation of International Robosoccer Association (FIRA) HuroCuP 2016.1st Winner, Indonesia Chem-E-Car Competition; 1st Place, Malaysia National Chem-E-Car Competition, Malaysia; 1st winner of AIChE Chem-E-Car Competition 2017, Minneapolis, USA; 3rd winner, Association for Unmanned Vehicle System (AUVSI), Virginia, USA 2016. ...
