The University and its faculties Mid Sweden University is one of the ten largest institutions of higher education in Sweden. Undergraduate courses and research are organised principally under the two faculties of the Human Sciences and Technology and the Natural Sciences. There is also a committee for inter-disciplinary research. Mid Sweden University offers courses and undergraduate programmes in the following fields: the Humanities, the Social Sciences, Technology and the Natural Sciences, Teacher Training and the Health and Caring Sciences. Geographically, Mid Sweden University is located in the middle of Sweden, right at the heart of Northern Europe. Mid Sweden University has three campuses: Härnösand, Sundsvall and Östersund. They differ in character and partially in the course programmes offered. The campuses The city Härnösand, with approximately 25 000 inhabitants, is located about 450 kilometres north of Stockholm. It is one of the oldest centres of higher education in Sweden. The primary fields of study at Campus Härnösand are Education and the Humanities.
