About
Helping you to go further
A postgraduate degree is a great way to sharpen your skills as a leader, communicator and strategic thinker in your chosen field or career. It can help you to enhance your career or to deepen your learning in a subject you are passionate about. Postgraduate study at Oxford Brookes can open up so many opportunities to advance yourself and shape your future.
A city of culture and learning
The city of Oxford is one of Europe’s major educational, scientific and technological centres and we ensure our teaching is dynamic and relevant to the real world. Oxford Brookes has exceptional local ties to business, science and research communities meaning we can help you put your learning into practice.
Flexible study
Postgraduate study at Oxford Brookes can also be completed around existing work, family or voluntary commitments. With part-time study, you can enhance your skills and continue to learn by spreading your course over a longer period of time. Many of our students combine work with study to develop their existing career. Distance learning is also an option for a number of our postgraduate courses.
Shaping your own learning
Self-study and choosing the ideas that you want to explore further are at the heart of postgraduate study. The focus on discussion time and one-to-one contact with tutors and peers places your ideas at the centre of your learning. We also give you the chance to enhance your learning experience by networking with fellow students from a wide range of backgrounds.
World class resources on your doorstep
Whatever your interests as a postgraduate, the city’s libraries, businesses, museums and creative venues will stimulate your ideas and challenge your thinking. What’s more, we have fostered strong partnerships with many of these institutions, including the Ashmolean Museum, Bodleian Library, Science Oxford, BMW and a number of the local F1 racing teams.
A centre of research excellence
Research at Oxford Brookes enjoys an international reputation, attracting high-quality staff and students as well as major funded projects. As a research student you will join a vibrant and supportive environment and benefit from expert supervision. You will also have access to a strong programme of research training led by the Oxford Brookes Graduate College, which helps organise research methodology courses and seminars, careers planning and advice, and the Research Students’ Forum.
Each of our academic departments and schools is engaged in a diverse range of research activities. A research degree from Oxford Brookes will help you develop your skills and discover new things, whilst also adding to the knowledge base of the Brookes academic community.
