Ever since its establishment in 1949, SISU has been recognized as a globalized and top-notch university in China. It has established and maintained a high academic stature among universities of its kind. With language and literature as its pillar discipline, it has successfully developed a diverse and distinctive mix of disciplines of education, economics, management and law. At present, there are all together 47 four-year undergraduate degree programs in 33 language majors and 14 non-linguistic majors. Up to January 2020, a total number of 6901 full time undergraduates (including 6028 domestic students and 873 international students) are studying on Songjiang Campus. In recent years, SISU has made it a strategic priority to go global. It has actively worked on expanding students’ international horizons with the focus on their immersion in a multicultural environment. Hence, it has now established partnership with more than 420 universities and institutions from 62 countries and regions. Each year a quite large number of undergraduate students have the opportunities to study in different countries on various exchange programs.
