Sholokhov Moscow State University for the Humanities was established as Moscow State Correspondence Pedagogical Institute (MSCPI) after the decree of Council of Ministers of the USSR from April 28, 1951. For years the University continued its active development, it was renamed a few times, and now it is Sholokhov Moscow State University for the Humanities, one of the major institutes of higher education in Russia in the field of technologies for the humanities and applied knowledge for the humanities. A wide range of career opportunities The University has all education programmes: • pre-higher education • higher education: Bachelor’s programme Master’s programme • extended education • advanced training and professional retraining Master’s degree programme: We offer students 21 Master’s degree programmes at our University. While each programme has its own unique focus, all are concerned with investigating currently significant issues in the light of technologies for the humanities. Seminars, workshops and tutorials are part of the formal structure of many of the programmes; additionally, the informal contacts and discussions take place between lecturers and students. At the end of the course students defend master’s thesis. Postgraduate studies Students can develop their skills of research work doing postgraduate studies.
