Located in the heart of Russia, in Krasnoyarsk, Siberian Federal University is among multicultural, highly ranked and internationally renowned universities of Russia. The campus of SibFU is safe and accessible for everybody.

The University was founded in 2006 by merger of 5 most outstanding educational institutions of Krasnoyarsk. Its priorities are innovation, sustainable development and preservation of the environment. There are plenty of disciplines from the traditional sciences through to humanities, law, languages, construction architecture and design.

Krasnoyarsk is a splendid location for students, who wish to study Russian as a foreign language. SibFU provides special Russian language preparatory courses, which are very popular among students from Asia and the Middle East.

The mission of the University is to be actively involved into sustainable development of the world and provide training of qualified professionals for the needs of business and industry globally. This explains a range of training and research programs offered here. The university’s particular strength is practically oriented studying.

There are 30,000 students in total, more than half of whom are undergraduates while 70 % are supported by the government and study free of charge: 151 academic programs (Bachelor & Master).

Research: 13,9 million US$- income from scientific research in 2017, 85 international laboratories include 5 laboratories with international partners and 29 international patents.

Science: 121 doctoral programs

Since 2012 the University has presented Honored Professor awards to eminent people who have most significantly contributed to SibFU development. The recipients are Osamu Shimomura, Ernst-Detlef Schulze, Ari Laptev, Anthony J. Sinskey and others.

International collaboration: over 1000 international students, 260 partners in 43 countries, 7 programs accredited by European Council on Business Education, 24 joint academic projects, member of the University of the Arctic, University of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, ASRTU, ASREU and other associations.

The University has 20 schools sprawled on 5 sites of the Krasnoyarsk city. The main campus is surrounded by Siberian forests and the others are located in prestigious areas of the city.

The campus is spacious, alongside with teaching halls, which offer higher-level comfort rooms for visiting professors, it includes exhibition galleries and sports facilities. New modern apartments offer fully equipped blocks of 2-share or 3-share study-bedrooms with forest view rooms.

The SibFU’s campus plays a great role in the coming event of the International University Sports Federation. It was approved as a location for the 29th Winter Universiade 2019 and FISU found it the most suitable place meeting high requirements of comfort and safety for the international sports event.
