The National Mining University is a State Higher Educational Institution located in Dnipropetrovsk (Ukraine). It was founded in 1899 as Higher Mining School to prepare engineers for mining and metallurgical industries developing in the South of our country. Today the university is the leading one among the Southern region universities of the country. In 2012 it took the 2nd place in the National ranking of Ukrainian Technical universities. The university runs various programs in different areas: Arts and Humanities, Engineering & IT, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences, though the main focus is on science, technology and engineering, especially mining.
