Togliatti State University

Togliatti State University is one of the largest universities of the Volga region and is the flagship higher education institution of Togliatti.TSU trains experts and skilled professionals for leading national and international companies, R&D centres, major enterprises in automotive industry, chemical and power engineering industry, etc.
Currently, over 15,000 students study in 9 institutes, including nearly 900 international students from 22 countries. More than 90 professors and doctors of sciences, 440 associate professors and candidates of sciences (Ph.D.) ensure high quality of education for 153 undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. All of the programmes were developed according to the international professional standards and are accredited by the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

Togliatti State University is among leading Russian universities in terms of digital transformation. Almost half of TSU students study online using e-learning technologies – in 2015, TSU launched an online learning project “Rosdistant“. Original format and higher education programmes taught with the use of an e- learning technologies complex. Over 300 university teachers and lecturers are engaged in the project. More than 2,500 content materials were developed for 28 higher education programmes. Currently, students from 18 countries of the world and 82 regions of the Russian Federation (including Moscow and St. Petersburg) choose to study via “Rosdistant”.

Research, development and innovations are one of the TSU keystone interests. According to a number of performance indicators, TSU occupies one of the top positions in Samara Region. The effectiveness of the university innovative infrastructure is evidenced by the creation of 26 small innovative enterprises under the federal law FZ-217 and another 9 enterprises and organisations established by TSU or its employees before the adoption of FZ-217 law.
R&D Institute of Advanced Technologies was established on 1 September 2013 for the development and commercialisation of the innovative produce manufactured by specialists in nanotechnologies, materials science, and physics of condensed state. The efficient innovative infrastructure including Testing Centre (accredited in two certification systems), Research and Analysis Centre, Innovative Technological Park, and Regional Design Office for Engineering provides multiple opportunities for research and innovation work.

Over the last five years, the university implemented four government mega-grants (total funding 500+ million rubles). These are three projects aimed at creating state-of-the-art laboratories supervised by leading scientists: "Physics of Strength and Intelligent Diagnostic Systems", "Nanocatalysts and Functional Nanomaterials" and "Metal Materials with Spatial-Gradient Structure"; and a project leading to the establishment of Innovations and Technologies Centre.
