Located in Honduras, the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional Francisco Morazán was originally founded in 1956 as the ‘Francisco Morazán Higher School of Teaching’ in the city of Tegucigalpa. It became a state-recognized university dedicated to training teachers in 1989.
The university has relationships with several international institutions, including the University of Costa Rica, the University of Salamanca, and the University of Barcelona. It has campuses in eight Honduran cities: Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, La Ceiba, Santa Bárbara, Comayagua, Santa Rosa de Copán, Nacaome and Choluteca.
Universidad Pedagógica Nacional Francisco Morazán offers both undergraduate and postgraduate vocational degree programs, as well as a doctorate in education. The university has around 23,000 students across the eight locations, and the school colors are orange and blue.
