The International MD Program is an innovative six-year Medical Doctorate program taught in English at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, one of the top-ranking Medical Universities in Italy. This 6 year MD Program accepts students coming directly from High School and with minimum 12 years of education.The San Raffaele campus is based in Milan, the economic capital of Italy in the heart of the Lombardy region. It is composed of Vita-Salute San Raffaele University and the San Raffaele hospital & research center. It is a well-known institution for research on cancer, urology, cardiovascular diseases and cardiac surgery, HIV/AIDS, rare diseases, preclinical and human hiological sciences. A learning-by-practice approach to the basic sciences and clinical teachings based on short-term, intensive lecturing followed by attendance of research laboratories at the San Raffaele Scientific Institute during the first two years of the Program, and hospital clinics and wards in the following years;
Assessment of knowledge acquisition with the collaboration of an external, independent third-party using valid and reliable measurement tools every semester. This allows thorough evaluation of student preparation as well as measuring teaching efficacy based on reliable international curriculum benchmarks;
Focus on Humanities in the first years; student study philosophy, ethics, human sciences, philosophy of science and language and communication skills with the aim of developing humanistic knowledge and acquiring the human, cultural and professional background needed in today's globalized world.
