Pierre and Marie Curie University (UPMC) is the top French university, covering all major sciences: mathematics; chemistry; physics; electronics; computer science; mechanics; Earth, marine and environmental sciences; life sciences; and medicine. Located in the heart of Paris, most UPMC facilities are on the Jussieu campus. It also boasts three outstanding oceanography observatories on France’s coasts. UPMC’s medical faculty works with seven teaching hospitals and its five medical institutes include research, patient care and teaching programs.

As France's largest scientific and medical education center, UPMC offers its 34,000 students (of which 20 percent are foreign) a demanding and diverse curriculum organized into 10 bachelor programs, 10 master’s degrees and 16 doctoral schools. UPMC promotes study abroad programs through its international bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs in partnership with universities worldwide.

Producing approximately 11% of the national research publications, UPMC has more than 3,750 professor-researchers and researchers in 100 laboratories in partnership with the main French research organizations.
