The University of Brescia was established in 1982, building on previous courses given by the nearby Universities of Milan, Milan Polytechnic, and Parma. When it was founded, the University gathered three Schools: Economics, Engineering, and Medicine. The School of Law was added in 1996. As a result, since November 1, 2012, the University of Brescia comprises 8 departments. The University of Brescia offers a wide range of educational programs with Bachelor and Master of Science (MSc) degrees, postgraduate technical courses, specialization schools and Ph.D. programs in most areas: business and economics, engineering and technology, law, medicine and surgery, dentistry. The University of Brescia is an important university in a city of art and culture (recognized by UNESCO) with an excellent quality of life, in one of the most important industrial and productive regions in Italy.
