The student can continue their studies at the postgraduate level or enter the job market. A postgraduate study programme last three years. Upon commencement a student acquires either a Doctor of Sciences or Doctor of Arts degree. The University of Rijeka also organizes postgraduate specialist study programmes which last for a period of two years. Upon graduation of these studies, a student obtains the academic title university specialist with notation of profession pursuant to title of study programme.
