There are 13 schools and 27 departments at the University of Science and Technology in China (USTC), offering a total of 43 undergraduate specialties. Bachelor’s degrees at USTC take four years to complete. To apply, you must be under 30, have graduated from high school, achieve a score of level six in the Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì (HSK – the Chinese proficiency test, as all courses are taught in Chinese) and pass an entrance exam. Tuition fees are 26,000 yuan (~US$3,870) per year. To apply, you’ll need to complete the application form, provide your high school diploma, a copy of your passport, an exam record, your resume, academic transcript and HSK test results.
