Based bythe sea in south-west England, Bournemouth University (BU) focuses on producingfuture-ready graduates, with every student undergraduate student having theopportunity to take a work placement as part of their course. BU has a longestablished programme of placements for students both nationally andinternationally and has a reputation for the quality of these opportunities.

 

Theuniversity has four academic faculties:

 

  • Health & Social Sciences

  • Media & Communication
  • Science & Technology

 

Many ofthe university’s courses are accredited or validated by professionalorganisations.

 

Allstudents have the chance to do a work placement, at home or abroad, whichevercourse you choose to study. Some placements last for 30 weeks, after yoursecond year, but others are shorter throughout the course.

 

Placementschallenge you to test the skills and knowledge you learn during the course in a‘real world’ environment, adding practical experience to your CV.

 

There’san annual Graduate and Placements Fair, and you’ll be helped by the Careers& Employability Service, as well as the excellent contacts of academicstaff, many of whom have worked in, or still work in, their field.

 

Thiscareers-focused approach produces real results: 93.1% of Bournemouth Universitygraduates were in work or further study within six months of graduatingaccording to the Destination of Leavers in Higher Education (DLHE) survey 2017.
