-

-
Health and Medicine
-
Science and Technology

Most first year undergraduates choose to live on campus in the first year in one of our colleges. Everything students need can be found on campus including shops, cafes, hairdressers, the sports centre and the library all within easy reach of the accommodation.
All undergraduate students are allocated to one of the eight undergraduate colleges; Bowland, Cartmel, County, Furness, Fylde, Grizedale, Lonsdale and Pendle. At the heart of your Lancaster University experience, colleges are your first port of call for everything from support to socialising. The Students’ Union also offers more than 200 clubs and societies covering a huge range of sports, activities, hobbies and causes, there’s something for everyone
Full-time applications to the University are made through UCAS at ucas.com. Applications for our International Foundation Programmes should be made through our partner Study Group at lancasterisc.com. Your school or college should be able to assist you with your application, or you may wish to contact a British Council Office or use an international agency for support. If you have already left school or college you’ll find advice on how to apply on the UCAS website or you can contact our admissions team.
We accept a wide range of UK and international qualifications and understand that some students may be applying with a range of qualifications. We keep our entry requirements flexible to ensure that every applicant is treated fairly. Our offer will outline what entry qualifications we require. We may also ask for particular grades in specific subjects, either at A level (or equivalent) or GCSE.
Lancaster University has developed a Chinese Careers Certificate. Recognising the nuances associated with career planning for the Chinese job market, we have developed a series of workshops to help Chinese students prepare for and search for jobs in their home country. This supplements the other opportunities available including placement year degrees, internships, opportunities for part time work, career fairs, workshops, one-to-one guidance, support after graduation and much more.
At Lancaster, we offer a range of placement year degrees that provide the option for you to spend the third year of your four-year degree working in a paid graduate-level role. This valuable opportunity will help you to apply the skills you have developed in your first and second year of study, refine your career plans and make a fantastic addition to your CV, significantly boosting your prospects for graduate employment.
If a whole year in industry sounds too much we can help you explore shorter internship opportunities outside of your course. These are great ways to try a job you’re interested in and allow you to gain valuable real-world work experience. Many students also choose to work part-time while studying. Many employers advertise jobs through our in-house recruitment service and we hire a lot of students ourselves.
