Specializing in education and research in the areas covered by its faculties, the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague was established in the Czech capital city in 1906. The university offers about 60 different academic programmes taught in English, with roughly 15 of these available at undergraduate level and 45 at postgraduate level.

The university also has a university farm, 11 hectares of grapevines, a 12-hectare arboretum, and a 4,600-hectare forest with a castle, a garden centre, a sawmill, 70 hectares of fishponds, and education facilities. It is the only full campus university in Prague.
